Committee of the Month - Transportation

Thanks to Ford Motor Company, the tournament has its own special fleet of 110 vehicles.  These vehicles are used for transporting contestants, officials, and VIP's to and from the airport, hotels and the golf club.  These vehicles are also used for course evacuation if play is suspended due to weather.

Volunteer drivers are needed Sunday, June 1 - Sunday, June 8.  Sunday, June 1 - Wednesday, June 4 are especially busy days for the transportation committee due to the Pro-Am. Our Pro-Am sponsors get the red carpet treatment and are driven to the course via courtesy cars as opposed to buses.

With close to 400 participants in our Pro-Am, the transportation crew works non-stop on Monday and Tuesday of tournament week!  Volunteers are also needed before and after the tournament to pick up and return the courtesy vehicles to the Port of Wilmington.

Extra special perks to volunteer drivers include - a brand new Ford vehicle to drive, gas - provided by Getty Oil, clubhouse access, the chance to meet and greet our VIP guests, and extra food - due to the extra long hours!

Volunteers must be a minimum of 25 years of age and agree to a background check.
